Guide Dogs

Description

The Guide Dog Tartan was designed by our in-house Design team, here at Strathmore Woollen Co, in collaboration with the Guide Dog Association.

Key inspiration for the Tartan was to represent the association at various levels. 

The main blue and gold represent the corporate colours and are therefore predominant in the tartan’s sett. The blues and reds represent the three main cities and counties where Guide Dogs have a base of operation in Scotland. These are Edinburgh, Hamilton (Glasgow) and, of course, Forfar. The final colour in the Guide Dog tartan is the green that can be found in the Forbes tartan and commemorates Lamont Forbes MBE, a loyal and vital member of the Forfar volunteer group.

T7 Quality Tartan

Strathmore’s T7 Quality Stock Tartan is a 100% pure new wool, general purpose, worsted tartan. It is suitable for making ladies kilts, skirts, trousers, accessories such as scarves and neckties, and for a lighter weight gents kilt.
