Please see below the terms and conditions subscribed to by both Strathmore Woollen Company Ltd and their customers.           If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. 

Guarantee of Quality

Strathmore Woollen Company Ltd. guarantees that all products supplied to customers are of the highest quality and comply with all Uk legislation.

Colour & Visual Accuracy

Whilst every effort is made to represent colours accurately, every monitor & display screen is different.  We cannot guarantee the colours you see are an exact match to the colours of the actual fabric. Similarly, we are working with 100% natural wool yarns, which can have commercial colour variations in production. If you are unsure, or are purchasing a Tartan to match previous/other tartans (even with the same name), please contact us & request a Fabric Swatch, prior to making a purchase. 

We make every attempt to ensure that the information on our website is as accurate as possible. Some products may display larger or smaller than their actual size.

Payment Options

Strathmore Woollen Company Ltd. accepts all major credit and debit cards (no minimum).  All web payments are via SagePay, a secure payment system.  Please note, that NO payment details are stored on Strathmore’s system.

Returns and Refund Policy

Strathmore Woollen Company takes great pride in the quality of its products and services.   Every effort is taken to ensure your products arrive in perfect condition.  Unless stated otherwise, ALL orders are cut & made to your specific order. Therefore, purchases are non-refundable/returnable/replaceable, unless they are found to be faulty or defective, or they do not conform to the details advertised on our website.  We comply with all current legislation under the Sales of Goods Act 1979 & the Trade Descriptions Act 1972.

The only exception to the above is where goods are purchased from our “Stock” ranges.  These are clearly marked in the “Stock Range” section of our website. Provided goods have not been damaged, used or worn (other than to try a garment on), they may be returned for a full refund or exchange within 30 days. 

If you return an item – all costs, including postage, will be payable by the customer. Please contact us before returning any item to discuss the best course of action. We will only refund the return postage costs if the goods are found to be faulty. Garments will be altered free of charge if they are found to differ from the specification stated on the website, or provided by the customer.

Due to system restrictions with over 400 tartans, our website does not directly link to our ‘live’ stock position. If the tartan you order is out of stock, we will let you know within 1-2 working days.  You will then have the option of – keeping the item on back order, substituting for other items to the same value, or cancelling with a full refund.

Any measurements provided to us, are the responsibility of the customer. Measuring guidelines are provided, where possible.  Please contact us ahead of a purchase, if you require further measuring advice. We cannot be held liable for incorrect  information provided to us.

Please note that accessories made from our Tartans are not ‘brushed’ wool items.  Eg.  a scarf or serape order is cut & fringed from our worsted tartan FABRIC. 

Delivery Methods & Timescales

Goods available from STOCK are normally dispatched within 72 working hours of your order being received. All other items are MADE TO ORDER & can take from 2-8 weeks to make.  Please contact us if you have a ‘required by’ date.  We will advise by return email if there is going to be a longer delay with your order.  See our Returns & Refund policy above for further information on ‘out of stock’ items.

Strathmore Woollen Company deliveries are made by Royal Mail (UK deliveries under 2kgs ONLY), or by Tracked & Signed DHL Courier (over 2kgs & ALL overseas orders).

Delivery times average between 1-2 days within the UK, & 7-21 days after dispatch, for overseas orders, dependent upon the country.  Please note that delivery times quoted may be extended at peak trading periods, in areas classed by the courier as ‘Remote’, due to adverse weather, or other reasons outwith our control.

Carriage for all orders is calculated at the checkout, and is dependent upon location, weight & dimensions of your order.  We regularly review our carriage rates, and orders are packed & dispatched via the most cost-effective method.

Taxes and Duties

To comply with Government legislation, current Value Added Tax (VAT) is charged automatically for delivery within the UK; certain goods such as children’s clothing may be exempt. Deliveries to other areas of the world (including Europe & North America) are exempt and are automatically charged at ex-UK VAT prices.

For overseas orders, customers are responsible & will be expected to pay any Customs and Duty charges upon delivery.  These are outwith our control and are set by each individual Government, in the receiving country. 

Strathmore Woollen Company cannot take any responsibility for import duty, customs charges, or for any goods seized by import authorities due to local regulations in the receiving country. If you are in any doubt, please check with your local authorities before placing an order.

Retention of Title

This remains with Strathmore Woollen Company Ltd, until the goods are paid for in full.

Order Confirmations

Upon submitting an order using our automated shopping basket, payment will be made through the SagePay secure server.  The customer can print a receipt from the website at the time of purchase if they choose. An automated email will also be sent to the customer with their order details.

Data Protection

Strathmore Woollen Company Ltd is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect in accordance with the UK’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), under the Data Protection Act 2018. We will collect the following information about you, solely for the purposes of processing your order: name, address, phone number & email address. This information will only be used internally, and by the relevant delivery company. Your details will NOT be shared with any other 3rd party.  No payment details are stored by Strathmore.

Unforeseen Circumstances

While every effort is made to meet customers’ demands – cancellations, delays or variations may be necessary, as a result of causes outwith the control of Strathmore Woollen Company Ltd. These include, but are not limited to – Act of God, War, Strike, Lockout, Labour Dispute, Fire, Flood, Pandemic, Drought or other causes.

Law

Anyone dealing as a trader, or in the course of their trade or business, agrees to be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Scotland.
